Here are a couple of things I think you may be interested in.

The first is an offering of two, free online courses from Dollar General
and ProLiteracy on Data Collection and Management and Data Analysis for
Program Decision-Making. A third course will be available in the fall of
2009

The second item is a grant opportunity to participate in Year 3 of the
Dollar General/ProLiteracy Performance Accountability Initiative.

Please read on.

Is being able to demonstrate your program's effectiveness important to
your program's success?

Free online self-paced courses are available to help now at
http://207.10.202.152 <http://207.10.202.152/>

With support from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, ProLiteracy
brings administrators and staff of literacy and adult basic education
programs field-tested strategies to adapt to your programs'
accountability needs

Data Collection and Management

The first of a three-part online series on performance accountability.
The course deals with the foundation data collection and management
practices needed to ensure the availability of credible, high-quality
student data. Length: approximately 3-4 hours

This course will help you:

* Build common language and approach to accountability
* Organize collection and management efforts around key decision
points and staff roles
* Increase confidence in your program's data collection and
management practices

Data Analysis for Program Decision-Making

The second in the series. This course helps administrators and staff
learn why and how to institutionalize data-driven decision-making
practices. Length: approximately 3-4 hours

This course will help you:

The underlying premise of the course is that all aspects of data-driven
decision-making become institutionalized practices, thereby establishing
a culture of continuous improvement.

In this course you will:

* Review and practice data analysis skills
* Improve quality of decision-making through a team approach to
data analysis and review
* Streamline program improvement using practical planning tools
and strategies

Coming in the fall of 2009: Communicating Success to Stakeholders, the
third course in the series.
