Here are some NEW educational tools for limited literacy patients and
the providers who serve them that we thought would be valuable to share
with this group.

New NCI Educational Resources Help Patients

Understand Chemotherapy and Manage Side Effects

NCI is excited to announce a new series of educational resources
designed to help patients understand chemotherapy and manage its side
effects. Written for patients and health care providers, this series
includes:

* Understanding Chemotherapy

o.pdf>

http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/chemo-side-effects/understandingchemo

* Chemotherapy Side Effects Fact Sheets

* Helping Providers Help Their Patients

The easy-to-read fact sheets are research-based and have been
pilot-tested in cancer centers across the U.S. They provide clear steps
to help patients prevent or manage side effects, understand what
chemotherapy is, and how it is given. Check out the booklet for
providers to see tips on how to use these fact sheets to increase
patient comprehension and adherence.

The attached flyer has more information for you, and for you to share
with interested colleagues.
